Quartz Polish Singapore

Having some natural stone elements in your home is always a good idea. Not only it enhances the aesthetic of your home, it brings you a tad closer to Mother Nature especially when you are heavily surrounded by concrete jungles. Stones like granites and marbles are always hot on the list and it is pretty common to find them in a lot of households. It only takes seconds to love these two beauties, but you might want to reconsider them when it comes to caring for it. They are both good investments with an expensive price tag and requires constant maintenance in the long run which might also strain your wallet. This is where their cousin comes in, quartz. Quartz although not as fancy as marble and granite, is a more practical option when it comes to area such as floorings which
need to endure high traffic and a busy kitchen.

Only Human, I mean Quartz

Quartz is very durable. But even superman kneels down to kryptonite. Just like how wooden floors are extremely not suitable to be used in the bathroom because it is not water resistant, quartz flooring are not suitable to be used at areas which receive direct sunlight because it is very sensitive to sunlight and will discolour over time when left exposed to direct sunlight. Though the emphasis is there that quartz is very durable, its other components like resins will still melt under extremely high temperature. Testing its limits by placing hot pots directly on top of it is still highly not advisable and may cause it to crack. Calm yourself. Either place it on trivets or hot pads. Happy quartz, happy wallet. Whilst quartz are scratch resistant, it is not entirely scratch proof. Knead all the dough you want on the bare countertop and but keep the cutting job on the chopping board.

Beauty vs Functionality

Quartz itself is very hard, with a hardness of seven on the Mohs scale. If you do not know what it is, it is okay, you just have to remember that it is very hard. It is the perfect material for different types of manufacturing, but if you think you are getting a countertop made entirely out of quartz when we mention quartz countertop, then honey you are wrong. Unlike marble and granite which is natural, quartz countertops are made out of 90% quartz with the remaining 10% consisting of resins, cement-based binder and polymers. Do not frown just yet, because this combination actually makes it super durable. Because it is manmade, it is non porous, making it stain and scratch resistant, proving itself to be a better choice for countertops compared to its pretty cousins.

Shine Shine Bling Bling

Though quartz requires close to zero maintenance, it will still be dull over time. Accidents happens. You might accidentally use an abrasive sponge to wipe the surface, or have kids around which spills lemon juice on that quartz flooring and keeps quiet for the whole day until you step on something slippery and sticky. But fret not, there are ways to make it shine again. First you have to clean the surface area with a sponge and a neutral detergent, neutral, to not worsen the dullness. Wipe the whole surface. Then you add some polish, and you would need to mix 25 percent of vinegar and 75 percent of water in a spray bottle or just go to the shop and get one quartz polishing solution. Next, you spray and wipe and repeat from one end to the other. Wipe the final round with a microfiber cloth. Arms day let’s go!
